FAQ

Framing & Construction

What gauge steel do End Zone BBQ Kitchen modules use?

All End Zone structural framing modules are engineered using heavy-duty 18-gauge G60 galvanized steel tubing. This provides superior rigidity, corrosion resistance, and load capacity compared to lighter 20- or 22-gauge framing, easily supporting heavy stone countertops, large grills, and concrete surfaces.
What is the height of End Zone module frames and cabinet inserts?
End Zone module frames are built to a height of 34 3/4 inches, while cabinet inserts are designed at 34 5/8 inches high for seamless installation and proper clearances. With a standard 1 1/2-inch countertop installed, the finished island reaches an industry-standard counter height.
Can modules be customized or combined for different layouts?
Yes. The modular system allows you to connect straight runs, L-shapes, U-shapes, and islands using dedicated corner couplers and joining brackets. Modules can be arranged to fit custom space requirements and accommodate various grill and appliance cutouts.

Materials & Components

What grade of stainless steel is used for End Zone components?

All End Zone components—including full-size access doors, storage drawers, open-shelf cabinets, and ventilation louvers—are manufactured using commercial-grade 304 stainless steel. This provides maximum protection against rust, oxidation, and outdoor weather exposure compared to lower-grade alternatives like 430 stainless steel.

What materials can I use to finish the exterior of my island?

End Zone framing supports virtually any outdoor-rated exterior substrate. After attaching standard cement board (such as PermaBase), you can apply:

  • One-coat or synthetic acrylic stucco

  • Natural or manufactured stone veneer

  • Exterior porcelain or ceramic tile

  • Composite or wood cladding (using appropriate non-combustible clearances near heat sources)

Do I need special framing for heavy countertops like granite or GFRC?

No additional reinforcement is required for typical installations. The 18-gauge steel frame is engineered to carry the structural dead load of heavy surfaces, including granite, quartz, porcelain slabs, and thick Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) countertops.

Appliances & Ventilation
Are End Zone frames compatible with all major grill brands?

Yes. Modules and cutout kits are designed to accommodate standard cutout dimensions for all major built-in gas grills, griddles, side burners, and outdoor refrigeration units. Always verify your specific appliance manufacturer's cutout specifications prior to final assembly.

Why are air vents required in an outdoor kitchen island?

Proper island venting is essential for safety and building code compliance. Gas (both natural gas and liquid propane) can accumulate inside an enclosed hollow island cavity if a leak occurs. Installing upper and lower ventilation louvers allows trapped gas and heat to escape safely.

  • Propane (heavier than air): Requires low venting near the island base.

  • Natural Gas (lighter than air): Requires high venting near the countertop.

Ordering, Shipping & Dealer Policies
How do End Zone products ship?

Frame kits ship in convenient boxes under 50 lbs via FedEx Ground, and smaller accessory items ship via FedEx Ground as well. Larger orders that combine multiple End Zone components and/or frame kits will ship via LTL freight secured on a wooden pallet. For freight orders, standard curbside delivery with liftgate service is included. Customers in certain remote areas may require an additional shipping surcharge or have the option to pick up their order directly at the local freight terminal; if this applies to your delivery address, our team will always contact you before shipping.

What should I do when my freight shipment arrives?

Before signing the delivery receipt (Bill of Lading), inspect the outer packaging and pallets thoroughly:

  1. Note any visible punctures, crushed boxes, or pallet damage directly on the driver's delivery receipt.

  2. If major damage is visible to the actual products inside, photograph the damage immediately, refuse the damaged portion with the driver, and notify customer support within 24 hours.

  3. Keep all original shipping materials until the delivery is verified complete.

What are the standard order lead times?

Lead times and processing schedules vary depending on the dealer or retail partner you purchase through, as well as whether items are in stock or custom-ordered. Please check directly with the specific dealer you are purchasing from for their current lead times, tracking updates, and transit estimates.
What is the return policy for End Zone products?
Because End Zone products are distributed through an authorized dealer network, each dealer maintains their own return, exchange, and restocking policies. Please review the return terms and conditions directly with your individual dealer prior to placing an order.
